25C Update Features Covered:
- Redwood Experience
- Tax Calculation Report
- US Oracle Payroll Tax Engine (USOPTE)
- Automatic Detection of Local Tax Jurisdictions
- Retroactive Overpayment and Recovery for Earnings Elements
- Load Absence and Time: Payroll Error Validation
1. Redwood Experience
Oracle Redwood is the new user interface designed to enhance the look and feel of Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. With 25C upgrade Oracle recommends transitioning all the Payroll customers to Redwood UI. Redwood features are continuing to be introduced for Global Payroll this time for Costing of Payroll, Department, Job, Position, Element, Payment source and Process Summary page. With this release Redwood features are auto enabled by default for the following pages Flow Submission, Messages, Payroll Activity Center, Payroll Checklist, Process Result Details, Process Summary and View Flows.
2. Tax Calculation Report
Quick Notes:
This feature provides detailed statements of how the payroll process calculates employee taxes during payroll and QuickPay runs. The report can be run for an employee, multiple employees with a payroll relationship group or entire organization. The output provides us with details of the employee, Summary info for all tax types and factors, formulas, and results for all employer and employee tax calculations processed in payroll.
3. US Oracle Payroll Tax Engine (USOPTE)
Quick Notes:
No more Vertex, US Oracle Payroll Tax Engine will now provide detailed information of taxes and its calculation. USOPTE includes:
- Automatic derivation of tax jurisdictions to rooftop accuracy
- All statutory tax data info is now delivered and maintained by Oracle Cloud, such as wage limits, rates, filing statuses, and allowance amounts
- Perform federal, state, and local tax calculations within the payroll product
- Support for additional taxes and calculation methods
4. Automatic Detection of Local Tax Jurisdictions
Quick Notes:
With the use of geospatial intelligence, the employees’ tax jurisdictions are automatically detected. The automatic detection of local tax jurisdictions is extended to location addresses. A new Tax Jurisdictions card is provided that displays all applicable tax jurisdictions associated with a worker’s resident and work tax addresses. New employees get this card upon hire. Current employees get this card when you run the Address Validation Process flow.
5. Retroactive Overpayment and Recovery for Earnings Elements
Quick Notes:
You can now control how Retropay results are handled with this new Retroactive Overpayment and Recovery for Earnings Elements feature, particularly when the results reduce an employee’s net pay. Rather than the overpayment automatically processing in full as a deduction to the employee’s pay, it is now offset resulting in no immediate impact to the employee’s net pay. You can setup and track repayments by the employee until paid back in full. This feature is only for earnings classification elements currently. And, this is only available for new elements setup to use this functionality, not for existing elements.
6. Load Absence and Time: Payroll Error Validation
Quick Notes:
From 25C update onwards an error message is displayed if you enter or update absence and time information on the classic calculation card page because this information should be managed in the source application to enable you to reconcile absence and time entries.
If you’re using the generic calculation card or the HDL Calculation Card file object to load absence or time into payroll, you must change your integration to use the absence and time files.
Please use the following HDLs to load third party absence and time data to Payroll
- Load absence information using the AbsenceEntry.dat file.
- Load time information using the PayrollTimeCard.dat file.
